Job Description

Summary: The Revenue Cycle Analytic Analyst is responsible for providing assistance in maintaining systems, processes and work flows, for the timely and accurate recording of hospital revenue. The position supports education to applicable leadership, implementation support and serves as a facility liaison to Cook Children's Health Care System (CCHCS) staff as it relates to billing system issues. This position has collaborative relationships with Patient Financial Services, Health Information Management, Clinical Departments and Compliance. The Revenue Cycle / Revenue Integrity departments ensure that Revenue Cycle staff and activity are in compliance with applicable State and Federal laws, regulations and organizational policies surrounding billing and collection practices .






Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare, Information Services, Business, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of three years in hospital revenue cycle (patient access, patient financial services and/or denial management) experience or equivalent relevant experience
  • Three years revenue cycle trending/metrics experience, including extensive knowledge of Federal, State and third-party insurance reimbursement, processes, and appeals preferred
  • Strong ability to analyze and interpret simple financial and statistical data
  • Strong computer skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, critical thinking skill, and ability to communicate effectively across operational areas
  • Knowledge of hospital and clinical healthcare delivery
  • Prior experience with Epic Systems Revenue Cycle solutions preferred



Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification

  • Certification in medical coding preferred
